Goodbye, goodbye, good friends goodbye

For now anyway.

This week I was an editor, which is pretty much what it sounds like. You edit reporters’ work, maybe give them some advice/assistance along the way and decide whether or not it gets published. Simple.

Except in UOW tradition, technology started to crumble before our eyes just when we needed it. Dear old WordPress exploded, not saving any edits to work and often deleting entire stories. So, we had the joy of running around, getting copies of everyone’s work and multimedia links.

On top of this, a lot of reporters were doing catch up stories this week. So, our two-woman team had almost twice the amount of work to edit with half the working technology. Fun

But hey, it was the final week and the reporters were pretty pro at this stage, and many finished stories early in the day. Abbey and I managed to get it  done on time, with only a few frustrated tears.

So, here I am done and dusted, wishing I could do it all over again. Didn’t expect that.

Hopefully, I’ll be back.

Liv out.
